Under the Sea Discovery: A Beginner's GuideUnder the Sea Discovery: A Beginner's Guide This guide will walk you through creating your first virtual reality (VR) project called Under the Sea Discovery. Don’t worry if you’ve never used this software before – just follow the steps below and you’ll be able to create your own immersive VR experience about sea life. Download the content from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1q1yMX3IWIELK10QISYsMZZ0o0SWlssNC?usp=sharing Steps to Create Your Project Step 1: Start a New Project Open VR-Suite on your computer. Log in using your class’s portal key. Click the "+Create" button to start a new project. Name your project "Under the Sea Discovery" and confirm it with the green tick. Press Start to enter the project. Step 2: Set Up Your Scenes You’ll work with 360° images and videos. On the menu (iMenu) at the bottom right of your screen, click the Locations button. Click Add 360° / Normal to add the 360° images or videos that you downloaded earlier (or use your own 360 degree images). Select the files from your computer and import them into the software. Step 3: Create Hotspots (Clickable Areas) Hotspots let users move between different scenes in the VR world. To add hotspots, click the HotSpot tab at the top of the screen in Editor Mode. Move through your scenes and add hotspots by selecting the circle for the location it should go to, that connects one scene to the next. Double-check your work by pressing the spacebar twice to exit Editor Mode and going though the project. Step 4: Add Interactive Content Now it’s time to make the project more interactive by adding slideshows, sounds, and 3D models. To Add a Slideshow: In the first scene (for example, "Shark in Palmyra"), click the Media tab at the bottom. Click Add Slideshow (Button that says Slideshow) and browse to the folder where you’ve saved your interactive content. Select all the files and open them – the system will automatically create the slideshow. To Add Sounds: In the same way, click Add Sound (Button that says Sound) from the toolbar at the bottom. Find the sound file (like a "Swimming Shark" sound) and add it to your project. Step 5: Add Labels and 3D Models To label sea creatures, click the POI (Button that says Point of Interest) icon and type a name like "Shortfin Mako Shark." You can move labels by clicking and dragging them with your mouse. For 3D Models: Go to Scene 5 (for example, the Coral Reef scene). Select Add 3D (Button that says 3D) from the toolbar and browse for a 3D model (like a Brain Coral). Import the model into your project.
